Etheridge Law PLLC is a black-owned civil litigation boutique operating from North Carolina's capital city and serving clients across the state.

I founded this firm with a clear purpose: to bring the same high caliber of legal service typically reserved for corporations and insurance companies to the people and businesses that need it most. BIPOC clients in need of a lawyer too often lack access to attorneys who look like them, understand their communities, and bring big-firm skills to the table. I'm changing that.

My path here wasn’t easy. I grew up in Morven, N.C. — a small town of just a few hundred people in Anson County, a rural farming county known for its robust landscapes and (once upon a time before globalization) mills and manufacturing centers.

I was raised by a single mom with the help of my grandparents, whose lessons in hard work and perseverance played a tremendous role in shaping who I am. From that small-town foundation, I built a legal career that has taken me from an international law firm in downtown Raleigh to a respected litigation boutique in Chapel Hill, and now to leading my own practice.

I began my career at that international firm as an associate in the corporate restructuring division. There, I worked as a creditor's rights and business litigation attorney — handling business restructurings, out-of-court workouts and settlements, and all manner of defense work. I got an inside look at how insurance companies and corporate defendants actually make their litigation decisions, what evidence moves the needle, and what doesn't.

I enjoyed the intellectual rigor, but I wanted to work more closely with real people and local businesses. So I moved to a litigation boutique in Chapel Hill, where I sharpened my trial skills and had the opportunity to conduct several trials (more than some attorneys see in an entire career).

Those experiences gave me a strategic advantage that I now put to work for my clients. I know how the other side thinks because I've been there. Most cases never reach trial, but I build every single one as if it will. And unlike many attorneys who call themselves trial lawyers, I've actually endured weeks-long court battles — strategizing with my team and calling shots in real time, under real pressure.

My practice now focuses on personal injury litigation, insurance disputes, and complex business and bankruptcy disputes. I serve everyone, but I take particular pride in representing BIPOC entrepreneurs and individuals that reach out with stories about how they have historically been underserved by the legal profession. Everyone deserves an attorney who brings relentless advocacy to the table and is genuinely invested in the outcome.

But I'm not for everyone. I operate a fully virtual office — all client meetings are by video or phone, and documents are exchanged through a secure portal and email. I find it cuts overhead, eliminates wasted commute time, and keeps me focused on what matters: your case.

When I'm not practicing law, you can find me flipping a house, playing guitar, or enjoying the great outdoors with my wife and my canine best friend: Clover.
